It is nearly ten, and I am still sitting here in bed. I actually like this! haha. It’s nice sitting here, hearing the sound of the highway in the distance (not sure why I find this sound comforting but I do), looking up and seeing the city skyline…..Just sitting here and being is not something I experience very often, because I am always up early getting ready to head out for a run or work on something else. I’m definitely making the most of the remaining days of this holiday vacation, as well as the no running because of this potential injury-thingy! Speaking of the minor medial knee pain, it’s already improved from just a couple of days of no running.
Yesterday I had some fillings done by my dentist. This is what happens when your dentist goes crazy with the numbing medication:

I had my appointment at 1:00, and the right side of my face was STILL numb at 8:00 when Dean’s friend’s came over. I had to turn my head to the side whenever I was smiling at someone so they could tell I was actually smiling and not looking at them creepily. haha.
Speaking of awkward pictures of myself, I thought I’d share with y’all a hair-dying disaster that happened a few weeks ago.
So, I’ve had blond highlights in my hair for quite sometime now. When I was younger, I had strawberry/red curly hair. Today, my natural color is brown with a little bit of auburn/red in it. I was sick of my hair color and wanted to go darker and redder, so I made an appointment at a local salon to get it colored. Because I can’t justify spending 2-300 on a hair cut on coloring on my salary, I always go to Aveda and get a student haircut and coloring. Haircuts are usually $10-15, and coloring ranges from 30-50ish. I’ve have always had a good experience there….until this last time.
This is what my hair looked like after my appointment:

My hair turned out TWO different colors!! NOT the look I was going for.

I had to go back the next day and get it fixed, which required stripping my hair of all of it’s color before re-coloring. I was very scared at this point when I saw myself in the mirror. My poor hair. So many chemicals. Ughh.

Remind me to never go blonde.

They did a pretty good job fixing it. This is how it turned out after they recolored it.

Another picture of my fixed up hair color, after it’s had time to recover a bit from the shock of all the excessive dye. This was actually taken last night, hence the somewhat awkward, half-paralyzed facial expression.
QUESTIONS:
Ladies, do you get your hair colored? Ever had a hair cut or coloring disaster?
Bloggers, do you plan what you’re going to write when you sit down to do a blog post?
I sometimes do, but usually I just sit down with my laptop when I feel like writing and write whatever comes to me. I usually write pretty quickly and am not very good about proofreading, in case you’ve never noticed. Today I actually had intentions to write about something completely different, but somehow I ended up posting hideous pictures of myself. haha.

Wow, the final and finished product of your hair is beautiful! I really really love it. suits you wonderfully!
I’ve had MANY hair disasters..I tried to get light brown streaks once, and it turned out bright yellow..so with my incredibly black hair, I was walking around like a bumble bee. TERRIBLE!
I’ve really only had one other hair coloring disaster: I was dying it myself and some streaks turned out a bluish-gray. I IMMEDIATELY made an appointment to get it fixed. So much for me trying to save money by doing it myself!
I usually post based on a photo that I’ve taken at some point and then I just flow with it!
They did a great job fixing your hair! Sometimes I feel I have more hair disasters than hair successes!
I usually only sit down to write a post when I have a topic in mind.
I’ve never had my hair colored, but my hair is naturally red so I’ve never felt the need to change the color. And everything I’ve heard about dying hair makes me glad I never started.
If you’re happy with your hair, definitely don’t get started with the dying!
I’m glad they were able to fix your color! I wanted to dye my hair a darker brown last year and it turned out pretty close to black, I was so upset! Fortunately, the color job was so bad that I noticed it would lighten up every time I went swimming (no cap) so I kept going and by spring my natural color was back. Whew!
haha, I’ve always wanted to get into swimming but can never get motivated to do so. Maybe the trick is getting a bad dye job!
