Hair/Makeup trial and fast food

5 Feb

I always have the most pathetic, random titles for my posts.  haha.  I’m just too lazy and impatient to spend more than 5 seconds thinking up a title, so that’s what you get:  hair/makeup trial and fast food.  It totally makes you want to read this post, right?  heh.

Today, as you know, I got my hair and makeup done.  I liked it, but it’s hard to have any perspective with only one option, you know?  I don’t think my mom was crazy about the hair, and I couldn’t read Dean’s reaction when I got back home.  So I’m not sure yet.  They kept saying I’m the one that has to be happy with it, which is true, but I don’t have to look at myself all night….everyone else does!  So while yes, it’s important that I feel comfortable in my own skin, I actually care more about what other people think.  Below are some pics:

My awkward attempt at taking a self-portrait of my eye makeup...Instead, you get a picture up my nose. Self-portraits are so awkward. Some people, though, in the blogging and Instagram world seem to be very, very good at taking (lots of) self portraits...and I don't mean that as a compliment.

Several of you on my fb page said not to dismiss the possibility of doing fake lashes, that they can actually turn out really good.  I want to do another makeup/hair trial at another place so that I have some base of comparison.  I’ll give the fake lashes a try there.

Afterwards I took advantage of some suburban fast food.  First stop (yes, there were two), was Taco Bell.  I was really excited about stopping by Taco Bell after my appointment when I realized it was just down the street.  I was going to just stop by and eat inside, but it was cold and snowy out, so I went through the drive through.  Now, I never go through drive throughs let alone order fast food (not because I’m some food snob, I just don’t drive anywhere)…so I got a little overwhelmed with all the choices on the board in front of me.  It’s not the menu that stressed me out per se, it’s that someone pulled up right behind me, and I started feeling stressed about making a decision quickly.  Yes, this is what happens when you put a city girl who never drives anywhere and packs her lunch every day through a fast food drive through…. keeping my cool during an ED shift?  No problem (most of the time).   Ordering fast food through a drive through with people waiting behind me….totally frazzled.  So I quickly said, “I’ll just take two plain chicken soft tacos.”

What I meant by that was that I didn’t want any fancy, overstuffed burrito…just a simple soft taco.

When the lady handed my food, I couldn’t wait to dig into my Taco Bell meal, but when I opened up my soft taco, I realized she took my request for a “plain” chicken soft taco literally:  All I had was a tortilla with a few slices of chicken in it….no lettuce, no cheese, no tomatos, no sour cream, nothing.  Don’t get me wrong…I love plain tortillas, but when you eat taco bell once every 1-2 years….it was a little bit of a let down.

My second stop?  Seven Eleven.  I have a confession:  I love getting gas station coffee.  I love mixing up regular coffee with one of the sugary cappuccino flavors:

I went with English Toffee Cappuccino mixed with French Vanilla coffee. I'm sure you were dying to know

The best thing about 7-11? They have mini-marshmallows! I could these things plain. The only bad thing about them is that I feel compelled to drink the top part of my coffee quickly before they all melt! I think I burnt the roof of my mouth a couple of times.

I went with Toffee flavor.  It was delish.  Only problem?  Not surprisingly, I had a sugar high and now I’m ready to take a nice long nap.   Way too much sugar, but when I’m on my ER month or PMSing, I use it as an excuse to eat whatever I want.  When the two coincide, all hopes of eating healthy go down the drain.

I’m a bit surprised you like Taco Bell. I have never been to a Taco Bell. Honestly, it kinda grosses me out and I’m a veggie, so options are limited. But, I love Wendy’s Frostys and fries when I’m hungover or PMSing hard.

haha, well I don’t eat it very often, but when I do, I love it : ), and I prefer it over Chipotle.

I love your hair. I think it’s stunning! I’m looking to get a similar style for my wedding. not sure if I want a side bun or just low in the back of my head.
I love Taco Bell but I am trying to eat very little fast food this year. I’ve had Chipotle once and that’s it.
