My workout OCD

5 Feb

Monday run:  5 miles at 10:30 pm after my shift.

Tuesday am workout:  25-30 minutes walking on the TM @ 4.5% incline, switching between 3-5 pound weights, 15 minutes weights.

I’m not OCD about a lot of things…just ask Dean who is always the one making our bed and who has to deal with me leaving my dirty clothes in the bathroom every morning, but there is one thing I am OCD about:  when I work out, the piece of equipment I am using can not be angled.  That is, if the bench I am lifting on is not directly straight in front of the mirror, it MUST be readjusted with the front end parallel to the mirror.  Same thing with cardio equipment.  I have gotten off my bike in the beginning of a spin class to adjust my bike so that is not angled one bit towards the mirror

See how the bench is not parallel with the tile on the floor (which is parallel to the mirror)....unacceptable.

Ahhh, much better, now I can lift.

I don’t know why this bothers me so much, because unlike some people, I’m not bothered much by crooked photo frames on the wall, but heaven forbid, if my workout equipment is crooked, nothing can happen until it’s corrected.  ; )

So I found a few wedding hair and makeup places that seem reasonably priced, and I will be leaving for a trial hair and makeup session shortly to see how I like it.  I’m actually sorta excited.  I’ve never had my makeup done before, so we’ll see how it turns out.    I’m bringing some pictures with me of makeup styles I like (natural) and styles I don’t like (over done, fake eyelashes, heavy foundation, darkly and sharply colored in brows, etc.).

As for hair, I’m thinking some classy updo?

QUESTIONS

Do you have any workout (or any time of) OCDs ?

Anyone do a honeymoon that was included on the registry?  I.e., where people could put money towards flights, hotels, dinners, etc. for their honeymoon instead of buying some random appliance as a gift?  I’m looking into it…

I have to stop running on even miles, it drives me crazy if I run 6.2 or 6.07 miles. Arghh. Even when I know my Garmin is off, I sometimes run back and forth in front of my apartment building until I reach an even mile!

I had looked into one but Brandon didn’t like that idea. Where are you thinking of going for your honeymoon? Can’t wait to see the trial pics.

I wanted to register for those sort of things however, when I asked family and friends they were pretty much against it. I think they are just living in the past and in a few years registering for honeymoon stuff will be the norm.
