Friday PM workout: 45 minute run
This whole past week, I had trouble getting up early (remember when I thought Monday was Sunday?), and then today, Saturday morning, after a wine-filled evening, I randomly wake up as wide awake as I can be at 4:30. What?? Go figure.
The reason Dean and I were out having drinks was because we were celebrating our one year engagement anniversary (you can read about his proposal here). I like any excuse to celebrate, so I see no problem celebrating our first date (October 2nd), engagement (August 17th), AND wedding anniversary (May 24th) every year : )
To celebrate, we went to one of our favorite wine bars and had a great time, as we met up with two of our friend couples:
Technically, there were TWO things to celebrate yesterday: yesterday afternoon, I finally accomplished getting an Illinois Driver’s License! Yes, this is a big accomplishment, because I moved to Chicago right after college for medical school, have lived here for NINE years and only now finally got an Illinois License. I think that may have been sorta illegal? haha. It’s just that I had a weird sentimental attachment to my Kansas license and plus, who wants to go to the DMV if they don’t have to??
I had no choice, though, as my Kansas license had expired, and I wanted to update my name on my license. Holy crap did they need a lot of forms of identity from me: passport, old license, social security card, hard copy of my birth certificate, hard copy of my marriage license, my apartment lease, and another letter addressed to myself proving where I lived. I guess that’s a good thing, as I’d be a little concerned if it was really easy to get a new license.
Speaking of the name change, it was incredibly awkward signing my new name. I insisted that they spell out my entire name on my license (including my new middle name, which is my maiden name), so when I went to sign my name on my license, I could barely fit my name in. In fact, “Ordzowialy” ended up getting all squished, because I didn’t leave enough room for it. It looked like a third grader signed my license. haha.
I must say, if you are from Illinois applying for a license for the first time, REVIEW THE DRIVER’S MANUAL!! The test was actually kinda hard, and I barely passed by one question!
Ladies, which brand of sports bra do you like the best? I’d have to say Nike for me. They at least certainly fit me the best. I LOVE the style of lulu sports bras, but a) most of them just don’t fit me right and b) I don’t like spending $50 on a sports bra and c) their inserts drive me crazy!!
I somehow always end up losing the inserts, or I forget to take them out when I wash them they get all bent and folded weird. Also, I can never seem to get them back in the bra the right way.
This happened to me yesterday:
I don’t think it’s as obvious in the picture as it looked in person, but I went through half of my workout looking like I had a deformed boob, because the insert folded up on itself. Then I wasted, like, 5 minutes trying to get it back in correctly. So annoying, BUT, I must say, I LOVE the style of this bra from lulu, especially the back of it:
How cool is that back? Amy, I bought this with your gift certificate and absolutely love it (the cute style makes up for the annoying inserts ; )!
1. Wine or Beer
I love both. Dean has really gotten me into beer, but I still tend to favor wine, although it depends on the weather and my mood.
2. Favorite type of wine?
Again, depends on my mood. Some nights I go for white, others red. Lately, I’ve been really into reds from Cote du Rhone region. I had one last night made from the Grenache grape that was just wonderful.
3. Favorite sports bra brand?
