Tuesday workout: 40-45 minute morning run
I’m dooooone! It’s so nice to be able to come home from work and to just be able to relax.
I’m not going to lie… the exam was challenging. I think everyone was in the same boat, though, because EVERYONE seemed to use all or most of the allotted time. I.e. no one breezed through it and left early.
We unfortunately don’t find out our results until mid-December. Goodness that seems like a long time, and I used to think waiting 15 minutes to get results from a figure skating competition was a long time!! I’m just going to try not to think about it and hope for the best.
I am obviously THRILLED to be done and get my life back, but finishing my exam yesterday was a little anticlimactic. I still don’t think it’s actually set in.
When I got home yesterday afternoon, I didn’t know what to do with myself, so I read a few blogs and came across this totally inspiring video in HRG’s post:
I then got totally motivated to run, threw on my shoes, and headed out for a run totally pumped to kick some butt. Unfortunately, that motivation did not last long. About 15 minutes into my run, I just wasn’t feeling it. I just felt so drained physically, and I didn’t have enough mental strength left from my exam to discipline myself to keep running, so I stopped, and I was ok with that. I just turned it into a nice walk, and heck, now that I have all this free time, I knew I could easily fit in a run today, which I did this morning.
Last night Dean and I had a group thing to go to, where we ended up winning free swing dance classes:
I’m actually really excited about this and think it will be very fun. I still miss figure skating and have been wanting to dance or do something similar, so this is perfect. I couldn’t tell if Dean was/is as excited about the classes as I am. He was pumped when we won last night, but I think that was more because he and I are competitive persons and was thrilled to just win rather than him actually being excited about the dance classes. haha, we shall see, but either way, we WILL take the classes and learn to swing dance together (will it be awkward that I’m 5’1.5” and he’s 6’3″???)
Afterwards, we biked over to Haymarket for a beer to celebrate the completion of my exam:
If you’re in the Chicago area and like beer, this is such a great place to go to. I highly recommend the Mathias (a double IPA, of course).
1. Ever taken swing dance lessons or some other sort of dancing? How’d you like it? I actually kinda want to learn to tango. I always loved my skating routines which were more dramatic, so I think I would really have fun with tango dancing.
2. Now that I have all this free time and don’t have to only read radiology books, I need some for fun books to read. Any recommendations??
